What does Sugar Hippo mean?: It means nothing. It was a journal I wrote all of my theories, thoughts, and ideas about love, life, and other such things in. It was the creative inspiration for this community. It's just a name, if you don't like it, too fucking bad.

What's the community about?: This community was designed to bring about intelligent debates and discussions. It was started because, I was looking to find people who would like to see things from other's points of view and build upon their own thoughts and theories. You are strongly encouraged to disagree and argue with members, but in a respecful way. Slander, name calling, racism, sexism, ageism, or any other form of prejudice will not be tollerated. I will not hesitate to ban you for iggnorance. With that being said, here is how to apply:

Rules:(applicants)

*After you join, please fill out the application.
*Use an lj-cut.
*Do not start arguements, unless you have been accepted.
*If you are not good at taking critisism, don't waste our time.
*Read all of the questions and anwser them. Don't skip anything because, it just shows that you are lazy.
*Members may ask you questions about what you wrote. Keep this in mind while applying, because you have to be able to back what you are saying.
*in order for you to be accepted, 60% of the members must want you here.
*Once accepted, feel free to join in any of discussions going on in the community.

Rules:(members)

*Do not just vote yes or no. Take the time to give a reason you think the applicant should or should not be accepted.
*You are voting should be based upon these questions: Would I want to listen to what this person has to say? Does this person know what they are talking about? Do they inclued examples to back up what they are saying?
*Do not vote from someone only because you agree with what they are saying. Read how they wrote it. Take all factors into account.
*the other mods and I will be asking you a question once a week. I could be as simple as, What are your pet peeves and why?. You will be required to anwser this question. *Community participation is a requirement.
*Do not take your arguement outside of the community and harrass the members. You will be banned.
*Feel free to ask your own questions, but please limit them to once a week.
*Most importantly: Speak your mind. Talking about random thoughts and ideas is fine, as long as you think it will spark intelligent discussions. (We do not want to hear about how cute your dog is, how depressed you are, or how much homework you have. Keep that in your personal journal)
*Do not just post pictures of yourself. Doing so will result in an automatic ban. There are communities for that.
